Will
my Half Keyboard for Palm work on my PC?
Unfortunately,
no. They use completely different keyboard protocols, so this will
not work. We make a separate Half Keyboard for PCs.
Do
I need any special drivers to run the Half Keyboard on a PC or Mac?
No. The
Half Keyboard is plug-compatible with a standard keyboard. It doesn't
need any special drivers.
How
big is the Half Keyboard?
It's
5.75 x 3.15 x 0.71 inches (146 x 80x 18 mm) - about the size of a
scientific calculator, or 1/4 the size of a laptop.
How
much does it weigh?
The Half
Keyboard weighs 125 grams (4.41 ounces) for the PDA version, and about
150 grams (5.3 ounces) for the desktop version, because of the longer
cable.
Why
doesn't beaming work anymore?
You will
have to turn off the Half Keyboard driver (temporarily) to do a beam
operation. You can turn the driver back on after you're done beaming.
How
do I keep my Palm from shutting off after 3 minutes?
Rainer
Persicke's AlwaysOn
application will let you do this.
AlwaysOn
is a simple little program that lets you change the auto-off time
of your Palm to longer values than possible with the built-in preferences.
It is even possible to disable the timer completely.

Macintosh
By default,
the Half Keyboard’s Ctrl/Command key will function as a Control
key. For Macintosh users, it is much more useful that the Ctrl/Command
key function as a Command key, so we suggest reconfiguring it. There
are different ways of doing this, depending on which version of Mac
OS you are using:
MAC
OS 9 (“Classic”)
Please download the OS 9 Version
of our Half Keyboard Enabler software. This optional enabler switches
the positions of the Control and Command keys.
With the Enabler active, the Ctrl/Command key will act as a Command
key.
Without the Enabler, Ctrl/Command will act as a Control key. To activate
the Enabler, simply copy it to the Startup Items folder within
your System Folder, and restart your Mac.
MAC
OS X
There is also an OS X
Version of our Enabler software. To activate the Enabler, simply
run it as an application. Please note that this is
a beta version of the Enabler. It is highly recommended that you download
our revised Users
Manual (in PDF
format) for complete instructions on how to use the Half Keyboard
with Mac OS X.
