"I am a veteran in the computer graphics field, with 20 years of experience. Because of a repetitive strain injury in my neck caused by working on a certain ill-designed graphic workstation during the mid-eighties, I became very concerned with workstation ergonomics. During the evolution of my workstation's design, I have purchased nearly every alternative keyboard out there. I have finally settled on a combination of the Kinesis Classic MPC for high-speed typing, and the Half Keyboard which I use for entering various commands, numbers, file names, and arrow key movements. This means I only have to place the Kinesis keyboard in my lap on those occasions when I must type an email or letter, but most of the time I can control my computer using the Half Keyboard.

Because of the ergonomic design of my workstation, I do not have to raise my arms off the arm rests of my reclining chair, significantly reducing the strain on my neck. Attaching a Half Keyboard to the left arm of the chair and a small Wacom tablet to the right freed up the configuration of my workstation's desk. I can actually put my feet up on the chair's ottoman, if I wish, and occasionally recline the chair to various angles to further reduce strain.

Currently, we are building the world's most advanced online art gallery called Eastmont Gallery which will open soon at: http://eastmontgallery.com. This gallery will simulate the 3D experience of visiting a real art museum, and it will have live, interactive custom framing with the highest resolution on the Internet. Under my other company, Eastmont Editions, we also print the fine art that we sell online. The Half Keyboard is an essential part of my workstation, and because our entire operation is controlled from this one station, the "Halfie" has become an indispensable part of the whole enterprise. Thanks for a great product!"

L. McAndrew created special car-door mounting brackets for his/her Palm and Half Keyboard, and sent us this photo. We're sure there's a very good application for this setup... and we assume it's perfectly safe and legal... but we haven't been told what it is!
Please folks, drive safely!

In the summer of 2000, before there was actual Half Keyboard hardware for sale, there were concepts, prototypes, and the software version.

Somehow, someone from Bitmagic.com (which was an internet startup that posted fun new animations on their website each day) came across our website and was inspired enough to make create this Flash animation.

Bitmagic's website is now gone, yet another casualty of these "interesting" economic times, but we've saved the animation here for you...

Requires the Macromedia Flash plug-in.
